Three hurt in Tamparuli road accident


KOTA KINABALU: Two men sustained minor injuries while another suffered serious injuries during a road accident in Tamparuli on Thursday (Nov 30).

The Fire and Rescue Department was alerted at 11.28am on the incident along Jalan Tamparuli-Ranau, Kampung Tomis there.

The Tuaran fire station sent a team assisted by Ranau fire station to the location.

"It was reported that a five-tonne lorry swerved and fell on its side at a section there.

"The three victims were given preliminary treatment before being sent over to the Tuaran district hospital.

"The team inspected the location to ensure there were no more risks before ending the operation at 2.01pm," said a Department spokesman.

It was learnt that the man that sustained serious injuries was the 45-year-old lorry driver, while no additional information on the other two victims were obtained as of press time.
