Perak tables RM1.35bil budget for 2024, its highest ever

IPOH: Perak has tabled a RM1.35bil budget for 2024.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the budget was the highest in the state's history, with a bulk of the allocations to drive the economy for the prosperity of the people.

Saarani said RM491mil would be for development while RM856mil would be for operating expenses.

"Similar to last year, we will carry on with five focuses.

"These are: prosperity of the people, governance of state interests, human capital and youth development, environmental sustainability, and food security," he said when tabling the budget during the state assembly sitting here on Friday (Dec 1).

Saarani said RM393mil would be allocated to implement development plans, including to build and improve infrastructure.

He also said RM202mil would be allocated for human capital and youth development while RM66mil would be for environmental sustainability and RM63mil to strengthen food security.
