Pejuang women's youth wing chief resigns, also quits party's central executive committee

PETALING JAYA: Dr Nurul Ashikin Mabahwi has resigned from her positions as Pejuang Pejuanita Muda chief and as a member of the party's central executive committee.

Pejuanita Muda is Pejuang's wing catered to its young women members, akin to Puteri Umno.

In a statement Saturday (Dec 2), she said a letter of resignation had been sent to Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.

"I would also like to thank former Pejuang chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for giving me the opportunity to serve in politics, as well as learning the ropes in this field.

"To the Pejuanita Muda, I would also like to thank them for their support," she was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.

In the 15th General Election, Nurul Ashikin was among 121 Pejuang candidates who lost their deposits.
