Air Force personnel killed after crashing motorcycle into another rider


KUALA LUMPUR: A 32-year-old Air Force personnel was killed in an accident at Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, near the Police Training Centre (Pulapol).

The victim, who was riding a motorcycle, is believed to have run a red light before crashing into another motorcycle at about 7.25am on Sunday (Dec 3).

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said the victim, who was coming from Pulapol, failed to stop at the red light before crashing into another motorcycle that was making a right turn.

"The rider of the other motorcycle, a 39-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries, and she has been sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for treatment.

"We are investigating under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said when contacted.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted on the deceased victim, and the investigation is still ongoing.
