Body of baby girl found on Penang beach


GEORGE TOWN: The body of a newborn baby girl has been found on the beach near Queensbay Mall in Bayan Baru here.

Southwest Penang district police chief Supt Kamarul Rizal Jenal said the baby's remains were discovered at 5.55pm on Sunday (Dec 3).

"The body has been sent to Penang Hospital for a post-mortem examination," he said.

Supt Kamarul urged anyone with information to contact the nearest police station.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealment of birth by secret disposal of a dead body.
