Lorry crashes into three vehicles in Alor Setar, kills two and injures three


ALOR SETAR: Two people were killed and three others injured when a lorry crashed into three other vehicles on Jalan Kolon, Pokok Sena here on Sunday (Nov 3).

Fire and Rescue Department Zone 1 head (Kedah) Senior Fire Superintendent I Ahmad Aminudin Abd Rahim said the crash, which occurred at about 9.55am, resulted in the death of Romadiah Ismail, 65, and Nadzifah Abu Seman, 28, who in a car together.

"We received a call regarding the incident at 9.59am and, upon arrival at the scene, found an accident involving four vehicles. A lorry, is believed to have skidded and cjhrashed into a sedan, a compact car and a pickup truck.

"Three teams from the Alor Setar, Pokok Sena and Kuala Nerang stations were deployed to remove victims trapped in their vehicles," he said in a statement on Sunday (Dec 3).

The two bodies were handed over to the police while the injured were sent to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital here, he said. – Bernama
