Body of missing six-year-old boy found in river near his home


PETALING JAYA: The body of six-year-old autistic boy Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin has been found in a river near his home at Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the body was discovered at about 10pm on Wednesday (Dec 6).

Police and other relevant agencies have launched search and rescue operations since Tuesday (Dec 5).

It was reported that the victim was last seen at the Idaman Apartment at Damansara Damai on Tuesday.

ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin had said police received a report about the missing boy at around 6.36pm on Tuesday.

"The boy was last seen neat Block R of the apartment complex along PJU 10/1, Damansara Damai at around 12pm on Tuesday.

"The boy was wearing a white collar T-shirt with the SK Damansara Damai 2 emblem on it and a black tracksuit and black shoes," he said in a statement on Wednesday.
