Madani govt one year anniversary programme set to begin on Friday

KUALA LUMPUR: The Madani Government One Year Anniversary Programme, which will kick off on Friday (Dec 8) at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, will serve as the best platform for the people to personally witness the government’s ‘report card’ for the past year.

The three-day programme until this Sunday is aimed at disseminating and promoting the policies and new initiatives introduced by the Unity Government since taking over the administration of the country on Nov 24, 2022.

With a target of 200,000 visitors, the programme is also aimed at increasing public awareness and understanding of the government’s direction and goals, as well as building trust and confidence between the government and the people through periodic achievement reporting method.

Various services will be available, including counters set up by the police for traffic summons payment, registration counters for the Rahmah Cash Aid and ‘Cuti-Cuti Cikgu’ holiday programme, as well as counters for unclaimed money.

Each ministry will also set up booths with special programmes such as breast and cervical cancer screenings, the Madani Mega Sale, mobile dental and general health clinics, counters to reprint public examination certificates, Rahmah Sales, free health screenings and lucky draws.

The programme at the Bukit Jalil stadium grounds will also see exhibitions featuring assets from the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) and the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM).

The ATM will display strategic assets and light vehicles, the APM will exhibit Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and Special Rescue Vehicles (SRV), while the JBPM will showcase Water Rescue Vehicles, Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS), and rescue boats.

In addition, sun observation using telescopes, interactive presentations on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) including drone and robotic displays, as well as the ‘Bara Membara’ science show and the From Earth to Universe Space Exploration programme, will be available at the event.

The programme, to run from 9am to 10pm, will focus on three components, namely the achievement showcase, the people’s touchpoint service and the People’s Well-being Initiatives.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to close the programme on Dec 10.

Anwar previously said that the programme is not merely a festivity but rather a means to report to the people what has been accomplished, aside from providing various services to them.

"It is called a carnival, but for me, it’s about providing reports and facilities. We are also not claiming this to be an extraordinary success, but we must approach the past year with humility and accept that there were some limitations.

"However, this programme will highlight the achievements of each ministry (and) there will also be a Rahmah Sales programme. (So,) take your time and see for yourself the explanation and benefits for visitors,” he said.

The programme is organised by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through the Project Acceleration and Coordination Unit and the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) as a joint secretariat in collaboration with ministries, government-linked companies, non-governmental organisations, private entities and stakeholders. – Bernama
