Missing autistic man found 35km from his house in Papar

KOTA KINABALU: A 24-year-old autistic man, who was missing from his house on Saturday (Dec 9), was found safe 35km from his village house in the Papar district.

Papar Fire and Rescue Services station chief Rozlan Osman said the missing man, Muhd Nuh Ibrahim Mohd Eddie Bahrin, was reunited with his family 12 hours after going missing at about 7am on Saturday (Dec 9).

"He was unharmed and safe when he was found on Saturday night," he said, adding that Muhd Nuh's elder brother came to the fire station to inform them that the man was found.

He said a taxi driver found Muhd Nuh wandering in a commercial area in Kg Benoni about 35km from his house in Kampung Sumbiling.

Firemen called off the search operations at 9.17pm.

On Saturday morning, Muhd Nuh's father realised that he was missing. The family, along with their neighbours, initially mounted a search for Muhd Nuh.

They then called firemen at 5.15pm (Saturday) after failing to locate Muhd Nuh within the village area.
