COMPETITIVE eater – yes, apparently there’s such a thing – and influencer Amoi Saka finished 23kg of Musang King durian under 30 minutes in a challenge recently, reported China Press.
The 33-year-old had accepted a challenge by the 8805 durian stall in Raub, Pahang to see how much durian she could finish in half an hour.
Amoi Saka managed to finish 9kg in just 10 minutes, stunning everyone present at the event.
However, when the timer reached zero, Amoi Saka finished only 23kg out of 31kg of Musang King the stall had prepared for her.
“If I had more time, 31kg would not be a problem. Right now, my stomach is only half full. Eating more is not a problem at all,” she said.
The Melaka native joked that her fart would smell like durian on the journey back home.
She said the reason she was able to consume so much durian in a short time was because she swallowed the seeds, which are small.
In the interview, she explained that she always had a big appetite compared to her peers and would need six bowls of rice to feel full when she was in secondary school.
She began taking part in speed-eating competitions in 2017.
> Hong Kong actress Jacqueling Wong gave a rare interview about her failing career, saying that “you reap what you sow”, reported Sin Chew Daily.
The 34-year-old, who was once one of the most popular actresses in Hong Kong, was shelved by TVB after being photographed kissing Andy Hui at the back of a taxi in 2019.
Reflecting on her behaviour four years ago, Wong said she had been a selfish person.
“I thought I could do anything I wanted to do without any consequences or even caring about other people’s feelings.
“In the past, I was not easy to please and I desired many things. After this happened, I changed a lot. Looking back, it is as if I were a different person.
“I am lucky to have experienced this and have the opportunity to change for the better,” she said in an interview with HK daily Ming Pao.
