Badly decomposed body found at Pulau Pangkor


IPOH: Badly decomposed human remains have been found at Pangkor Laut in Pulau Pangkor here.

Manjung OCPD Asst Comm Mohamed Nordin Abdullah said a passer-by found the remains at around noon on Sunday (Dec 10).

"Our enforcement team, together with Kg Acheh marine police and Pangkor Island Fire and Rescue Department went to the location at 12.50pm.

He said the victim was wearing blue jeans and red shirt but did not have identification documents.

"We could not identify the victim's gender. It is estimated that the victim died more than two weeks ago," he said in a statement on Monday (Dec 11).

ACP Mohamed Nordin said the remains were taken to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital's forensic unit.

"We have classified the case as sudden death. Those with information about the case may contact the call the Manjung police headquarters at 05-688 6222 or the nearest police station," he said.
