Skeletal remains found along Melaka's Sg Malim


MELAKA: Partial skeletal human remains have been discovered along the bank of Sungai Malim here.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said the discovery was made by an excavator operator carrying out river-widening works near Taman Gadong Perdana here at 5.10pm on Monday (Dec 11).

"We have launched an investigation into the specifics of the remains after the forensic unit of Hospital Melaka confirmed (them to be) human," he said on Tuesday (Dec 12).

ACP Christopher said no identification documents were found at the site and the remains were found among the undergrowth at the riverbank.

"We are in the midst of identifying the deceased and establishing the circumstances surrounding the death," he added.
