Seremban primary school teacher nabbed for sexually assaulting pupils


SEREMBAN: A counselling teacher at a primary school here has been detained for allegedly committing physical sexual assault against his pupils.

The 43-year-old male teacher was detained after the school's headmaster lodged a report.

It is learnt police obtained a seven-day remand order on the suspect from a Magistrate's Court here on Tuesday (Dec 12).

Seremban police chief Asst Comm Arifai Tarawe confirmed that the suspect has been detained to assist in the investigation.

It is believed that the suspect also sent pornographic clips to his alleged victims and that police found such material on his phone.

However, it was not disclosed how many victims were assaulted.

The case is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017.
