Probe into student being slapped underway, says Education Ministry


PETALING JAYA: The Education Ministry is investigating a viral video circulating on social media which appears to show a teacher striking a student during a school's official ceremony.

“An ongoing investigation is being conducted to promptly address and resolve this matter.

Educators are reminded to consistently uphold ethical standards and uphold the dignity and professionalism of the teaching profession,” it said in a statement on Thursday (Dec 14).

The ministry added that it is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and all individuals within educational institutions under its purview.
