INSTEAD of enjoying their golden years, an elderly couple in Pontian, Johor have to endure the sad sight everyday as they watch and care for their son and the father of their grandchildren, who has been paralysed for over a year, reported Kosmo!.

Subohi Kardi, and his wife Jalilah, have had to watch helplessly as their 42-year-old son Mohd Sharizan waste away in bed every day from a neurological disease.

The carpenter and father of five has been suffering from the chronic illness for some time, but he was able to still speak and work.

But last year, Sharizan’s condition took a turn for the worse and he is now bedridden and unable to speak.

“Now that he’s forced to lie for too long, he gets bed sores but thankfully a local teacher lent us a special bed for him to use.

“He also goes through two disposable diapers per day and about 60 per month, which we change,” said Subohi, 65.

Despite his old age, Subohi said he continues to work at a nearby pineapple exporting company to help pay for his son’s needs, like disposable diapers and medicine.

Jalilah, meanwhile, sells pisang goreng (banana fritters) at a nearby grocery store and food court when she is not caring for their five grandchildren aged nine to 20, who are all still studying.

>The daily also reported that renowned singer Ayda Jebat has delivered her second child.

The 31-year-old, who is also an actress, shared the happy news in a post on her Instagram account on Tuesday night.

“Our prince was born this morning.

“Thankfully everything went well. Thank you to everyone for all your prayers,” Ayda, who married her husband Nabil Mahir in Jan 2021, wrote.
