Two men held over murder of accountant


KUALA LUMPUR: Two friends of an accountant who was found dead and naked in Cheras have been detained by police.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Zam Halim Jamaluddin, when contacted, said the two men were arrested on Tuesday.

The arrests were made in and outside the Kuala Lumpur area.

“As of now, two men have been arrested to assist with investigations.

The motive is still being investigated,” he said.

On Monday, the body of an accountant was found on Jalan Kuari, Kampung Cheras Baru.

The body of the 28-year-old was found naked and face-down.

Police have since classified the case as murder.

On the two men detained, ACP Zam Halim said that they were friends of the victim, aged 25 and 35 years old.

Both have been remanded until Dec 18.

“A post-mortem conducted showed that the cause of death was ‘multiple blunt trauma injuries’ to the body.

“Police are still investigating the exact location of the murder,” he said.
