Second Penang bridge to close for cycling event on Dec 22


GEORGE TOWN: The Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Bridge will be closed from 10pm on Friday (Dec 22) until 3am on Saturday (Dec 23) for a cycling event.

Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd said in a statement on Monday (Dec 18) that the closure was for the PDRM 2nd Bridge 2023 Solitary Fun Ride, which will see cyclists crossing the bridge as part of the 54km route.

"The bridge will be closed on Friday night until early Saturday morning.

"It will open and operate as usual after the end of the cycling event," it said.

Road users are advised to take the Penang Bridge as an alternative route and obey all signs and instructions provided.
