KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Abu Tariq Jamaluddin (pic) is the new Inland Revenue Board Malaysia (LHDN) chief executive officer effective Dec 17.

Abu Tariq, who was LHDN’s deputy chief executive officer (compliance), replaces Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Nizom Sairi, whose contract ended on Dec 16.

Abu Tariq, who holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LLB Hons) from Universiti Malaya, began his career at LHDN on March 15, 1995.

Bernama reported that he has extensive experience in the field of direct taxation, including tax legislation and compliance.
