Falling tree crushes two to death


PETALING JAYA: An uprooted tree crashed into two vehicles, killing two.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the incident occurred in Jalan Bukit Belacan in Ampang on Tuesday (Dec 19) afternoon.

"The tree crashed into a car and a motorcycle, hitting the victims.

"A 65-year-old man, the driver of the car, died at the scene, and his death has been confirmed by medical officers from the Health Ministry," he said.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail confirmed that the motorcyclist had also died after being rushed to Hospital Ampang.

"Cleanup works are currently underway in the area," he said.
