PETALING JAYA: Police should be given space to conduct a thorough investigation into the murder of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the investigation was covering all angles and the investigators needed time to process all the evidence.

"We are still conducting the investigation and we will not give up on finding credible evidence that leads to the arrest of the culprit responsible for the murder.
"We hope the police will be given space to collect evidence and information to assist the investigation," he said when contacted on Tuesday (Dec 19).

At the Idaman Apartment on Tuesday, a police patrol car was seen making its rounds around Block R.
On Sunday (Dec 17), plainclothes officers were seen entering Block R, while a dozen or so forensics policemen arrived around 3pm.

It is known that the authorities were investigating an empty unit on the top floor of the block.
All were seen exiting the apartment after inspecting the unit for about two hours.

Last week, investigators were seen returning to the scene on a daily basis.
Last Friday (Dec 15) two child witnesses were brought to Block R to assist in a police reenactment.

They were believed to be the last persons who had seen Zayn Rayyan before he was found murdered near the apartment.
Zayn Rayyan, an autistic six-year-old boy was reported missing on Dec 5 in Damansara Damai.
His body was found in a stream about 200m from his residence at Idaman Apartment the next day.
Police confirmed that a murder investigation had been opened following a post-mortem on the body.
