Musician nabbed for allegedly breaking boom gate at KL condo


AMPANG: A 55-year-old musician has been detained for allegedly breaking the boom gate at the entrance to a condominium here.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the suspect had earlier asked a security guard to open the boom gate so that he could park his car in the condominium's compound at 12.53pm on Monday (Dec 18).

"The security guard refused to open the gate as the suspect had overdue maintenance fees of RM6,448.

"The suspect then broke the gate and entered the condominium's compound. Losses suffered by the management is about RM1,500," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 20).

The suspect was subsequently detained at Pandan Indah police station at 8.50pm on Monday.

Mohd Azam saaid the suspect does not have a criminal record and has been remanded until Friday (Dec 22).

"The case is classified under Section 427 of the Penal Code (for committing mischief and causing damage)," he said.
