A LUNG and heart infection has left comedian Isma Aliff in critical condition and placed in an induced coma, reported Harian Metro.
The 59-year-old actor of the 1986 romantic comedy Marah-Marah Sayang has been hospitalised since Friday after suffering a stroke.
According to Isma’s 57-year-old sister, Shamsidah Ismail, doctors said Isma’s chances of survival were slim.
Shamsidah said she was distraught over her brother’s deteriorating health.
“When I spoke to him earlier, I saw that his eyes were blinking and there were tears. It is extremely depressing as he has always been cheerful and never cries,” she said.“He could still speak a little when I visited him last Sunday. However, on Monday night, his oxygen level suddenly decreased and doctors had to place him in an induced coma.
“Doctors were unable to predict his chances of recovery due to the attack on vital organs but said they would do their best,” added Shamsidah.
Isma, who is also a singer, has released four albums throughout his four-decade-long entertainment career.
He is also known for his funny side in the comedy reality show Maharaja Lawak Mega 2013.
> Residents of Kampung Orang Asli Tonggang in Ipoh, Perak, can now heave a sigh of relief after a roaming tiger was successfully captured, reported Berita Harian.
According to Perak Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) director Yusoff Shariff, the captured tiger is believed to be the same one that was spotted by residents over the past few days since a video of it went viral on Dec 14.
The 90kg male tiger, about four years old, was captured safely yesterday morning using a tranquiliser dart after it was baited into a trap set by Perhilitan officers.
Yusoff added that the tiger, called “Pak Belang”, has been sent to the National Wildlife Rescue Centre in Sungkai for a health check and further action.
