PETALING JAYA: Christmas cheer came early for constituents in Titiwangsa after Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani handed over contributions.
In a Facebook post on yesterday, the Titiwangsa MP and Plantation and Commodities Minister shared a post regarding a recent Christmas celebration that was held at Dewan Yayasan Bena Nusa, Taman Maluri.
“May these contributions help reduce the burdens on your families and ease preparations for the coming holidays,” he said.
In an Instagram video of the same event, he said he would do his best to ensure the government was a stable one in order to revive the economy.
“Therefore, the position and trust that has been bestowed onto me; all of you have equity in it,” said Johari.
Meanwhile, Bernama reported that highway concessionaire Anih Bhd would increase operational preparedness to accommodate the upcoming holiday traffic.
The Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK) and the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1) concessionaire in a statement said it expected nearly one million vehicles on both highways between Dec 23 and 26.
Around 172,200 vehicles will be expected on the KLK per day, while the LPT1 is forecast to see a daily traffic volume of 68,200 vehicles. Both are over 70% and 50% of their respective daily traffic flow.
Anih also said it would support its current workforce at toll plazas, and “strategically deploy” Rela members along its highways to ensure smooth traffic flow during the festive period.
“Travellers are encouraged to use rest and relax areas (R&R) or designated stops as needed, and to adhere meticulously to road signs, speed limits and directives from highway personnel.
“These measures ensure a safe and comfortable journey for everyone,” it said in a statement.
Anih chief executive officer Imran Gulcharan Abdullah recommended that travellers consult the Travel Time Advisory (TTA) issued to ensure a smoother and more comfortable journey.
