Two killed in three-lorry crash near Tangkak


TANGKAK: Two people were killed and three others injured in an accident involving three lorries at KM164.8 southbound on the North-South Expressway (NSE) near the entrance to the Tangkak rest and service area here early Thursday (Dec 21).

Tangkak fire station operations commander Zamri Ayob said 18 firemen from the Tangkak and Bukit Gambir stations rushed to the scene upon receiving a call at 4.26am.

He said the driver and the attendant of a five-tonne lorry, who were pinned to their seats, died on the spot.

"The three injured victims, two drivers and an attendant, were sent to Hospital Tangkak," he said in a statement.

The operation ended at 6.05am, he added. – Bernama
