DNA test to be conducted on recovered human remains in Sibu

SIBU: A deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) analysis will be conducted on the skeletal remains of a human being that were found in the drain at Jalan Bukit Assek.

“DNA samples from these bones will be sent to the forensic unit of the Chemistry Department for further investigation,” said Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Zulkipli Suhaili on Friday (Dec 22).

A local council contractor had, on Dec 20, stumbled upon a human skull while clearing a drain in Jalan Bukit Assek.

The police have classified the case as sudden death.
