Man, 42, dies after being stung by wasps in Segamat


SEGAMAT: A 42-year-old man was stung to death by wasps near Felda Tenang here.

Labis Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Hairisyah Wahid said the victim was attacked by wasps while participating in a motorsports activity on Sunday (Dec 24).

“We received an emergency call at 2.24pm about a wasp attack near the Jalan Semayong forest reserve in the area and a team of seven firefighters rushed to the scene.

“The victim was declared dead by a Labis health clinic health officer on the spot and his body was handed over to the police for the necessary actions,” he said.

After ensuring that the area was safe of wasps, the team of firefighters left the scene at around 6.30pm, added Hairisyah.
