Volkswagen Malaysia recalls 6,671 cars over airbag issue


PETALING JAYA: Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has issued a recall for six car models.

It said that models produced between 2010 and 2014 have been identified for inspections due to the recall.

It said in a statement that around 6,671 cars will be affected by the recall.

"The affected models are the sixth generation Golf GTI, Eos, Passat CC, Polo, Beetle and Vento, which are equipped with a specific driver front airbag gas generator housing.

"Owners may visit https://www.volkswagen.com.my/volkswagen-service/repair-and-service/service-action and key in their 17-digit VIN number which can be found at the bottom left of their vehicle’s windscreen," VCPM's head of marketing and PR Yani Fadzil said.
