MELAKA: A 12-year-old boy was said to have been repeatedly sodomised by an adult senior at a hostel here.
State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Zainol Samah said the Year Six pupil and his mother – a teaching assistant at a religious institution – have been living at the hostel since April.
The boy was allegedly to have been sodomised by his senior some 30 times, he said.
He said the victim was afraid to reveal his ordeal to the hostel management and his mother, fearing that the suspect would harm him until he returned home to meet his dad.
On Sunday, he told his father about the incident upon reaching home.
“The father called the senior to his house on the same day and confronted him before beating him up,” he said yesterday.
DCP Zainol said three policemen on their rounds intervened in the commotion and arrested the senior from Kepala Batas in Penang.
He said the boy’s father also lodged a report at Tengkera police station around 2.30pm the same day.
He said the 20-year-old suspect, who is also living at the hostel managed by the institution, had been remanded for six days to assist investigation under Section 14(d) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
