Claims of harassment by police station chief untrue, says Port Dickson OCPD

PORT DICKSON: Police have yet to receive any report alleging that a station chief here harassed a woman and sent her lewd messages.

Port Dickson OCPD Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said preliminary investigations also found that the accusations, which went viral on social media, were baseless.

"The allegations went viral on Dec 25 in a chat group, accusing the station chief of harassing and sending lewd messages to a woman.

"A preliminary probe has revealed that the allegations were unfounded and made to discredit the station chief and the image of the force," he said in a statement Wednesday (Dec 27).

Supt Aidi Sham said police would carry out an internal investigation and disciplinary action would be taken if there was proof of any wrongdoing.

He also advised the public not to circulate the allegations as action can be taken against them under the Penal Code and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
