Medical staff at relief centres to prevent Covid-19 outbreak

KUALA BERANG: Health department officials and medical staff have been deployed at all flood evacuation centres to screen everyone for Covid-19 symptoms to prevent any outbreak of the disease.

Each person who checks into a relief centre will be screened and registered by these officials, said Terengganu deputy police chief Datuk Wan Rukman Wan Hassan.

“I have discussed this with Health Ministry officials and every centre indeed has health officers and staff that will be stationed to monitor the status of incoming evacuees,” he told reporters at Kampung Bukit Tok Bat here yesterday, Bernama reported.

“When a victim wants to register at the centre, ministry officials will conduct an initial examination and investigation.
