Dr Wee pays moving tribute to first woman MP Rosemary Chow, describes her as compassionate leader

PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has described the late former Wanita MCA chairman Tan Sri Rosemary Chow as a compassionate leader who always had the interest of the people on her mind.

“Her contributions to the people, the party and the nation are greatly appreciated and will be deeply missed,” he said.

Dr Wee who paid his last respects to Chow has also on behalf of the MCA expressed his condolences to the grieving family.

"We express our heartfelt condolences to her grieving family members," said Dr Wee on Facebook on Sunday (Dec 31).

"May you rest in eternal peace," added Dr Wee.

Other MCA leaders present at the wake were MCA secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon, vice-president Datuk Lawrence Low, central committee member Datuk Leong Kok Wee and Beliawanis MCA chief Ivone Low.

Chow, 96 who passed away on Thursday (Dec 28) was the first woman MP and Wanita MCA founding chairman.

She was also Hulu Langat MP and served as deputy education minister.

Her funeral service is currently being held on Sunday (Dec 31) which began at 10am and the cortege will depart to Nirvana Memorial Park, Semenyih at 11am.
