PETALING JAYA: The number of victims seeking temporary shelter at relief centres across the four flood-hit states have dropped to 10,982 people.
Three days ago during its peak, the number stood at 28,189 evacuees.

According to the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma), only four states are currently housing victims who are displaced due to floods in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Johor.
Nadma said Kelantan has the highest number with 10,354 people.
A total of 3,224 families were affected by the floods and they were placed at 29 relief centres in four districts – Kuala Krai, Pasir Mas, Tumpat and Jeli.
As of 5pm yesterday, Terengganu had 354 flood victims at five relief centres.

On Dec 27, at the height of the floods, 10,145 people were affected in the state.
Currently, only 97 families in Kuala Terengganu and Dungun are placed in five centres.
In Pahang, the number of flood victims dropped to 133 at centres activated in Bera, Maran and Temerloh.
Meanwhile, 87 people who were evacuated from their homes due to a landslide in Cameron Highlands are still staying at a temporary relief centre.
Johor has the least number of evacuees with 54 people in Segamat.
According to publicinfobanjir.water.gov.my, the water level at six flood measuring stations has exceeded the danger level namely Sungai Luit station in Kampung Subuh and Sungai Pahang in Lubok, Maran; Sungai Pahang in Kuala Sungai Chini and Paloh Inai in Pekan, as well as Rompin (Keratong and Sg Rompin).
In Kelantan, water level in Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang station, Pasir Mas, also exceeded the danger level.
On Friday, Nadma’s National Disaster Command Centre showed that there was only a slight change in the number of flood victims across the four states with 23,011 to 23,008 at 103 relief centres.
However, the flood situation has eased in Sabah.
