Our focus is on national development, says Anwar as he dismisses ‘Dubai Move’


PUTRAJAYA: Dismissing talk of the Dubai Move, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says the government will continue to focus on its work.

"I read about the Dubai Move, but we will focus on work. That is their (Opposition) work, but it does not impact us, and what is important is that we have started an important programme for the people on Jan 2," he told reporters on the sidelines after launching the national Central Database Hub (Padu) here on Tuesday (Jan 2).

"Our focus is to develop the country and the people," he added

When asked whether he remained the Prime Minister, he curtly replied, "Alhamdulilah".

On Saturday (Dec 30), Community Communications Department deputy director-general Datuk Ismail Yusop claimed that the plot was organised by Perikatan Nasional leaders and government backbenchers who were on vacation in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to Ismail, a meeting occurred during the visit to assign specific tasks to "agents" responsible for identifying MPs who might want to switch their support to the opposition.
