Over 70 foreigners nabbed in raids on 16 Selangor massage parlours

KUALA LUMPUR: The Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) raided 16 massage parlours in Selangor and detained 76 foreign women and a foreign man.

In the 5pm raids on Thursday (Jan 4), the CID's Organised Crime division (D14) also rescued 37 foreign women believed to be human trafficking victims.

The raids were conducted by D14 and assisted by CID's Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division (D7) in Petaling Jaya, Serdang and Gombak, as well as North and South Klang.

"We detained 25 Vietnamese women, 28 Thai women and 23 Indonesian women and an Indonesian man for various offences including under the Immigration Act 1959/63.

"We also saved 19 Indonesian women, 15 Vietnamese women and one woman each from Thailand, China and Cambodia, believed to be victims dumped here by human trafficking syndicates before being forced to work at the massage parlours," the CID said on Friday (Jan 5).

A total of 15 locals, including two women, were also detained for their roles as alleged agents for the foreign women.

"Several items were seized including massage oil, wet wipes, mobile phones, walkie-talkies, condoms and RM7,700 cash," the CID said, adding that it will continue to conduct such raids and operations to curb human trafficking activities.

"Anyone with information on any criminal activities should pass the information to the police," the CID said.
