Teenager nabbed for alleged drug distribution in Kota Kinabalu


KOTA KINABALU: A teenager has been arrested after he was found in possession of 100g of syabu near an apartment in Penampang.

Penampang police chief Supt Sammy Newton said the 19-year-old male suspect was found with two small packets on Tuesday (Jan 2).

"We found two small transparent packets containing a white substance which we believe to be methamphetamine weighing 99.34g and valued at RM19,860.

"The suspect also tested positive for drugs," he said in a statement on Friday (Jan 5).

Supt Sammy said the suspect has been remanded for seven days from Jan 3-10 under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act for drug trafficking.

He said the suspect would also be investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act for consuming drugs.
