Anti-litter programme Johor Bersih keeping state clean, says MB

JOHOR BARU: The Johor Bersih agenda, which started some two years back, is seeing a positive impact among the people, says Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

The Machap assemblyman added that the Johor Bersih agenda was launched in early 2022 to address cleanliness issues throughout the state.

"I am very happy to note that the Johor Bersih initiative has had a positive impact on the public by increasing their civic awareness level higher.

"I can see that on social media people have been tagging me whenever they want to report about individuals throwing garbage or locations that have rubbish.

"It is good that they are doing it as it shows their awareness of civic duty is increasing because of the Johor Bersih agenda," he added.

Onn Hafiz said this when met during Johor Bersih gotong-royong programme held at Pantai Lido here on Saturday (Jan 6).

Meanwhile, Onn Hafiz also carried out a groundbreaking ceremony for a temporary parking area to address parking problems at Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA).

He added that the temporary parking area would have 173 parking lots and would be located in front of the hospital’s main entrance here.

"The temporary parking area is located on a 2.4ha land where works will be complete by the end of this month. Soon, patients going to HSA do not have to park their vehicles at the roadside if there are no more available lots inside the hospital grounds.

"The second phase of the temporary parking area can fill in more than 200 parking lots but it depends on the public request first," he said.
