Seven men nabbed for brawling at Johor entertainment centre


JOHOR BARU: Seven men were arrested by the police to help with an investigation following a brawl in front of an entertainment centre in Taman Sutera Utama here.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said the incident occurred on Saturday (Jan 6) at 1.50am involving a group of men.

"The investigation revealed that the fight occurred due to a misunderstanding between the men.

A report of the incident was lodged at 2.40am and a team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has managed to arrest seven men to help with the investigation," he said in a statement here on Sunday (Jan 7).

The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting, which carries a maximum jail term of five years, a fine, or both, upon conviction.

Earlier, an 18-sec video was uploaded to the Malaysia Night Life Facebook page showing a group of men fighting and throwing chairs.
