Floods: MCA team already on the ground in Johor, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: The service team in Ayer Hitam under Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, who is the MP of the constituency in Johor as well as Barisan Nasional's machinery and MCA's Crisis Relief Squad (CRSM), has been tasked to be on standby to aid flood victims in the state.

Dr Wee, who is also MCA president, said he had asked the various teams to be prepared for any circumstances, and some of them under the party are already on the ground.

"I have been closely following the flood situation throughout the country, particularly the one in Johor.

"I have also asked my service centre team in my constituency in Ayer Hitam, people’s representatives and BN machinery and MCA Crisis Relief Squad (CRSM) to be prepared for any circumstances.

"At the moment, MCA members and the Johor CRSM are already on the ground to help flood victims in affected areas with other uniformed bodies.

"I also reminded my team to always ensure that food supply is sufficient for distribution to flood victims," he said in a Facebook post on Monday (Jan 8).

Dr Wee also urged the public to relocate to relief centres when they have been requested to do so by the authorities.

"Please take good care of yourself and the minors. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who is affected," he added.
