Cop nabbed for drug offence now probed for threatening colleagues


SHAH ALAM: A policeman who was initially arrested in connection with a drug offence is believed to have threatened two other police personnel.

It is learnt that the officer, in his 30s, was taken to the Bukit Puchong police station on Monday (Jan 8) in connection with an alleged offence under Section 12(3) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

He allegedly made threats against two personnel there and their family members.

The incident has been circulated on social media and WhatsApp.

Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain confirmed the case.

"We have opened an investigation for criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the Penal Code.

"The suspect has been remanded for seven days to assist with further investigations," he told reporters on Wednesday (Jan 10).

Comm Mohd Shuhaily said although this case involved police personnel, no one was above the law.
