Fire breaks out at Beruas MPs home, three cars damaged


IPOH: Three cars parked at the garage of DAP lawmaker Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham’s residence in Ayer Tawar near Manjung were destroyed in a fire on Wednesday (Jan 10) morning.

No injuries were reported in the incident that occurred at about 3am at his Taman Semarak Jaya house.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department’s operations commander Tarmizi Abdul Ghani said they received a distress call at about 3.05am, and firemen arrived at the site at 3.12am.

“When we arrived at the site, three cars at the porch of the houses had caught fire. One of the cars was 80% destroyed, while another two were slightly damaged," he said,

“The garage ceiling and roof were also destroyed,” added Tarmizi.

Efforts are being made to contact Ngeh and the police.
