Cops take seven statements over arson attack on Ngeh's home


IPOH: Police have recorded statements from seven people in their investigation of the Molotov cocktail incident at the home of Beruas MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said they would wait for the report on the statements before deciding on the next course of action.

"No arrests have been made so far.

"We will monitor and increase patrolling in the area," he said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 11).

On Wednesday (Jan 10) morning, three cars parked in Ngeh’s house in Ayer Tawar were damaged when a Molotov cocktail was thrown into the compound.

Ngeh told a press conference that no warnings were received prior to the early-morning arson attack.

A broken bottle with an object taped to it was found near the porch of his house.

On the possible motive for the attack, Ngeh had said that he was not involved in any quarrel or dispute with anyone.
