Decaying body of unidentified man found inside car in Ipoh

IPOH: The decaying body of an unidentified man was found in a car near a car dealer centre in Pasir Puteh here.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said the body was found by a passerby on Friday (Jan 12) at about 11.50am.

"The body was found in the back seat of the black-coloured car, which had been locked from inside," he said when contacted.

"After opening the car door and conducting an initial investigation, the police found no signs of foul play," he said, adding that the victim was fully clothed.

ACP Yahaya said the police were unable to inspect the body as it was decaying and infested with maggots.

"The body has been sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital mortuary in hopes of getting a fingerprint from the deceased," he said, adding that the case has been classified as sudden death.

"The post-mortem will be conducted on Monday (Jan 15) at 9.30am," he added.
