KUALA LUMPUR: A man who sold videos of himself having sex with more than 20 women has been arrested in Janda Baik, Pahang.
The 31-year-old suspect was detained by Bukit Aman CID's anti-vice, gambling and secret societies division (D7) at a house in Kampung Janda Baik, Bentong, Pahang, at about 2.30pm on Wednesday (Jan 17).
Two women, aged 23 and 27, were also detained.
Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the suspect was detected promoting videos of his sex activities on Telegram.
"Initial investigations revealed that the main suspect is a two-time divorcee.
"He started selling (so-called) sex-enhancing medicine from China through social media early last year," he said.
Comm Mohd Shuhaily said the suspect then started recording his "rough" sex escapades with multiple women and sold the videos via three channels on Telegram since last July.
"On top of having girlfriends, the suspect is believed to have worked as a gigolo and even slept with customers or subscribers to his Telegram channel," he said when contacted on Thursday (Jan 18).
He said the suspect would post links to subscribe to his videos via advertisements on Telegram.
"After payment is made, the suspect will send another link to subscribers to view the pornographic videos.
"The investigation also revealed that as of Jan 16, the suspect has 2,051 subscribers paying RM100 per month for a 200-video package and 622 subscribers for a 13-video package at RM20 monthly," he said.
Comm Mohd Shuhaily added that subscribers comprised both men and women, some of whom are professionals such as doctors and entrepreneurs.
Women who wanted to have sex with the suspect were also given conditions, including for the sex act to be recorded and sold, he said.
"The suspect and the two women (arrested) were featured in the sex videos for sale. We are also tracking down other women involved in other videos," he said, adding that they also seized five mobile phones and two ATM cards used to manage funds from the subscriptions," he said.
The trio have been remanded for five days until Monday (Jan 22), and they are being investigated under Section 372(1)(e) of the Penal Code for promoting sex activities for profits, which carries up to 15 years imprisonment, whipping and a fine upon conviction.
"They are also being investigated under Section 292 of the Penal Code for possessing pornographic materials, which carries up to three years imprisonment upon conviction, and Section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998 for abusing network facilities," he said, adding that this was the first instance of such a case in the country.
