Masseur claims trial to sexually assaulting teen in KL hotel room

KUALA LUMPUR: A masseur has been charged at the Sessions Court here with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy earlier this month.

Hamid Khan Samoon, 43, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to him in front of Judge Mohd Kafli Che Ali on Friday (Jan 19).

According to the charge sheet, the accused committed the act at a hotel in Jalan Sultan in the city centre here sometime between Jan 1 and 10, Sinar Harian reported.

He was charged under Section 14(a) Child Sexual Offences Act 2017 which carries a jail sentence of up to 20 years and caning, if convicted.

DPP Noorhani Muhmmed Ayub proposed bail of RM15,000 with additional conditions that the accused should not harass the victim, and must report to the nearest police station once a month.

Hamid Khan, who was not represented, pleaded for lower bail as he had to support his elder sister.

Mohd Kafli then set bail of RM8,000 with one surety and agreed to the additional conditions.

The court then fixed Feb 21 for mention.

It was reported earlier that two brothers, aged 15 and 16, had gone missing on Jan 1 from their housing area in Taman Bernam Jaya.

One of them was later found unconscious at the Pasar Seni LRT station on Jan 11.

The teen claimed that he had been held captive in a motel in Jalan Petaling by unidentified individuals and was ill-treated.

He said he had been separated from his brother on Jan 9.

However, both brothers have since been found and reunited with their family.
