KUALA LUMPUR: A 33-year-old man was detained for allegedly taking an indecent video recording during a performance at a shopping mall in Bukit Jalil.
Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Zam Halim Jamaluddin said three police reports were lodged over the incident, which occurred on Friday (Jan 19).
"Initial investigation showed that the incident occurred at about 9pm on Friday when a woman, who was performing on stage, was informed by an audience member that a man was taking an indecent video from below the stage.
"The victim's friend and other members of the public managed to apprehend the suspect at the mall," he said in a statement on Saturday (Jan 20).
Police personnel from Bukit Jalil police station were dispatched to the scene and arrested the suspect at about 11pm, he said.
"We are investigation under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
"The suspect has been remanded until Monday (Jan 22)," he said.
ACP Zam Halim said the police will not compromise in taking action against anyone who breaks the law.
