K. Gunaseelan opened a new wing of the Kulim Hindu Sabha, which was formed in 1964, in the presence of members and dignitaries.

Sabha chairman K. Selladurai said the new wing was named after the late MP to remember his contributions to the community.

He said after a meeting in 2019, the late MP helped them get state funding for various works, including upgrading a Hindu cemetery.

The late MP also donated around RM27,000 and promised more assistance before his death.

> The daily also reported that some pregnant women had planned to undergo Caesarean delivery to ensure their children will be born on the day of consecration of a temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

Ram Mandir, built on the hypothesised birthplace of Lord Ram, is scheduled for consecration today after disputes, communal violence and court cases.

One woman said she believed her child would be successful if born on the day of the temple’s consecration.
