Lorry driver nabbed, 9,000 litres of subsidised diesel seized at Rembau petrol station

SEREMBAN: Enforcement officers seized some 9,000-litre of subsidised diesel in an operation at a petrol station in Rembau early Tuesday (Jan 23).

Negri Sembilan Domestic Trade and Cost of Living director Muhammad Zahir Mazlan said his officers also seized a lorry, 10 intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) and related items such as a pump and hose in the operation.

The subsidised diesel and the seized items were valued at more than RM60,000.

"We found the diesel stored in the IBCs placed in the lorry.

"The driver and his attendant were detained to assist in investigations," he said in a statement.

Muhammad Zahir said the case was being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

He said the department was also checking if there were other people involved.

"We would like to remind those who deal with subsidised items to always adhere to the relevant laws, failing which, they will face the full wrath of the law," he said.

He also urged anyone with information on such activities to alert the department by sending a WhatsApp message to 019 279 4317 or 019 848 8000.

They can also send an email to e-aduan@kpdn.gov.my or call 1 800 886 800.
