THE Penangite who bought “the most expensive” plate of nasi kandar worth RM218 is actually a regular customer, says the restaurant manager, Kosmo! reported.
Mohamed Imran Mohamed Yassin said he did not expect his regular customer, a 33-year-old man, to make such an order, including the restaurant’s signature dish.
He said it broke the record as the most expensive order from Nasi Kandar Sulaiman in the last six decades.
According to Mohamed Imran, he was surprised when his customer also ordered the amount with a plate of white rice.
“The customer is our regular and he has always come here with his dad since he was young.
“Among the items ordered were 13 huge prawns, 13 squids, two pieces of chicken and salted egg.
“I was shocked that he managed to finish his meal within 17 minutes,” added Mohamed Imran.
He said the order was totally unexpected and it was not made for social media content.
On Jan 20, Nasi Kandar Sulaiman in Jalan Air Itam took to its Facebook page to announce that it broke a record for the most expensive plate ever billed.
The post came with several photographs of the food and the customer.
Previously, the restaurant revealed that another customer from a different state ordered a plate of nasi kandar worth RM50 and dishes worth about RM100.
