Police looking for men linked to brawl at Skudai restaurant


JOHOR BARU: Police here are looking for a group of men linked to a brawl that occurred at a restaurant in Taman Impian Emas in Skudai.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said the incident occurred at 11.50pm on Friday (Jan 26).

“A team from the Criminal Investigation Department was deployed to the scene; however, all of the suspects managed to run away,” he said.

“So far, no victim has come forward to lodge a police report on the case, and we are currently on the lookout for the individuals involved in the fight,” added ACP Balveer in a statement on Saturday (Jan 27).

The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting, which carries a maximum jail term of five years, a fine, or both upon conviction.

Earlier, a 45-second video was shared on Whatsapp showing a group of men fighting using tables and chairs at a restaurant.
