BAP schooling aid must be paid in full, says ministry

KUALA LUMPUR: The Early Schooling Aid (BAP) of RM150 for each student must be disbursed without any deductions, says the Education Ministry.

The ministry, in a statement, expressed concern about several complaints received regarding the allocation of BAP to students.

According to the ministry, schools are required to adhere to all guidelines related to the implementation of BAP for students, reported Bernama.

“The BAP, amounting to RM150 for each student, is implemented with the purpose of easing the back-to-school expenses borne by parents or guardians at the beginning of the year,” it said.

It said the distribution of aid is carried out through schools, either credited directly to students’ accounts or provided in cash.
